Space was established by Mark
Willmott in January 2003 following 17 years spent in private practice
including three years with Julyan Wickham and, most recently, 11 years
as co-founder of Forge Architects & Surveyors Ltd in Southwark.
It was during the later years at Forge that Mark undertook various
projects as architect-led developer and the lessons learned from
engaging simultaneously in both disciplines have created the foundation
upon which Space is based.
Our blend of skills and experience enables us to provide high quality
architectural services, in the traditional sense, from a commercially
enlightened standpoint.
Space's main areas of expertise to date include residential, commercial
and mixed use, urban regeneration projects although some retail
projects are currently at design stage.
Space are committed to producing modern architecture that is founded on
an appreciation and celebration of engineering and craftsmanship.
A central theme within Space's work is the search for architectural
solutions which reconcile the seemingly mutually exclusive aims of
sustainability and profitability.
